A fish flying out of a cup of water symbolizes adjusting to change or learning how to adjust to change.
Adjusting to change can be difficult, but our responses to change can help us to make even the most negative changes positive!

The coronavirus pandemic created significant change in just about everyone’s lives in 2020.  This change was especially significant for entrepreneurs and professionals, many of whom shifted to remote work from home and had to implement new meeting software. Schools closed and children e-learned from home. In-person seminars became webinars.  Working parents had the double duty of their own work tasks coupled with ensuring kids were staying on task with learning.  Adjusting to change was difficult, but it was a gift, too. In learning to navigate the changes we were all collectively experiencing, we gained unity and tools for future success.

Change is naturally stressful, but it’s what you do in response to it that matters.

Your attitude is everything. Dwelling on how things used to be is not very productive.  Focus on the present and what you can do to make it better. Don’t anticipate how things might be difficult. Shift your focus and take the opportunity to look for what might be good about the change.

Mindset is the key to successfully adjusting to change

One mindset shift is to think about problems in need of solutions rather than thinking about your feelings about the unexpected changes which can keep you stuck. This helps you focus on actions you can take to make things better. And things can always be made better. One thing we entrepreneurs and professionals discovered about 2020 is that isolation doesn’t usually work very well over the long haul. Keeping connected to your online communities and keeping conversations alive brings new ideas to try and help when you need it. Don’t be afraid to lean on your communities for help in times of change and uncertainty. Someone might have just the solution you have been looking for.
